Summary

Tyrants don’t ask for second chances。 They seize them。
Which is why I can't let go of Indie Starling。

They call me the Tyrant。 As a rule, I don't feel。 But that changed when a charming reporter girl stole my attention with her beauty and razor-sharp wit。

Now I'm obsessed。

I have plans for us—marriage, children, a life together。 But she ruined our happily-ever-after when she refused my advances。

Indie doesn’t understand our connection。 She thought she could run to escape the feelings that confuse her, so I let go of the leash to watch where she’d hide。

But the safest place for my future wife is in my arms…in my bed。

I expected her to return to me, not the trouble she’s caused。 She’s done something bad。 And I’m more frightening than the men chasing her。

I can make it all go away。

But it comes at a cost。 A life for a life。 My price is her submission - forever and always。

Lol tells her what to wear a few times -h fought the wholleee time。 I get it buttt at some point you gotta stop。-H has past of child abuse, molestation and lots of trauma。 It’s not detailed just talked about and this is the cause of his control issue and his need to control all aspects of life -Steamy -has a BSDM feel。 There is a smex club which adds to this also there is one scene there and then a forced scene back there later on。 - I skipped ALOT… I mean it just seemed like a ton of the h being too curious for her own good, her fighting the H, the H controlling everything and smexy times and the h antagonizing over her feelings again。 Like basically until 90% this chick is fussing…- once they are forced together he’s all like this will be my wife, she will give me kids but he still lets her take BC… 🧐-We see the H obsession with the h but then he spend 2 months without chasing her, bangs others while apart and then she’s just “an obsession” and will make “good wife Material” that stuff didn’t make it seem like he was into her alone which annoyed me。 I mean he’s like emotionally damaged and maybe that’s why but that annoyed me。 -it was decently written and overall ok。 Just not for me and idk why I wasted hours reading this today 🤦🏻‍♀️ will not read the next book。 。。。more

Vanessa Waltz is a favorite author of mine。 She writes well with good storylines and complex characters。 This was a darker read。 I had trouble liking Knox。 But he was a complex man。 He's still not a favorite, but he redeemed himself in the end。 Indie struggled to stand strong, allowing her emotions to rule。 She earn my respect。 This story had a bit of repetitive dialogue/actions that I found myself scanning over towards the end。 I cannot wait for the next book。 The bomb the author dropped has me Vanessa Waltz is a favorite author of mine。 She writes well with good storylines and complex characters。 This was a darker read。 I had trouble liking Knox。 But he was a complex man。 He's still not a favorite, but he redeemed himself in the end。 Indie struggled to stand strong, allowing her emotions to rule。 She earn my respect。 This story had a bit of repetitive dialogue/actions that I found myself scanning over towards the end。 I cannot wait for the next book。 The bomb the author dropped has me on edge! Knox and IndieDark, brooding, dangerous。 Knox is a tyrant who has never known love of any kind, becomes obsessed with Indie, who only sees good in people。 This is a story truly about second chances and changes all in the name of love。 Great story--can't wait the third book in this series。。 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 Knox and IndieDark, brooding, dangerous。 Knox is a tyrant who has never known love of any kind, becomes obsessed with Indie, who only sees good in people。 This is a story truly about second chances and changes all in the name of love。 Great story--can't wait the third book in this series。。 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

Wow, wow, wow! Gah, I do love a Vanessa Waltz book。I have loved this other books around this Boston storyline and Knox, holy bejeezus, this dude。 Knox wants Indie but he can't really explain to himself why。 She is not like the other women and isn't afraid to tell Knox what she thinks of him。 Maybe that's it。 She has lady balls and Knox doesn't know what to do with that。What a great, dark, binge-worthy read。 Wow, wow, wow! Manipulation I don’t ever write negative reviews, but this one I just can’t get over。 This isn’t a romance story。 This is case of narcissistic abuse and manipulation to the highest degree。 Because of Indie’s new found desire to be dominated, she confuses that with unwavering control and obedience。 Her sister is the only voice of reason in this only to find out that she has her has her own book next with an equally abhorrent man。 The “happy ending” in this is garbage。 It was truly trash。 Knox di Manipulation I don’t ever write negative reviews, but this one I just can’t get over。 This isn’t a romance story。 This is case of narcissistic abuse and manipulation to the highest degree。 Because of Indie’s new found desire to be dominated, she confuses that with unwavering control and obedience。 Her sister is the only voice of reason in this only to find out that she has her has her own book next with an equally abhorrent man。 The “happy ending” in this is garbage。 It was truly trash。 Knox didn’t suddenly forget every piece of childhood trauma and start to “love” Indie because Tony gave him a pint of Cherry Garcia and told him to get a hold is his psychotic capabilities。 Psychos don’t rationalize and change their behavior at the behest of others。 It seemed forced and unrealistic, especially with the time breaks at the end。 I truly abhor this read and what the author made Knox do to Indie。 That’s not love but horrific abuse。 To parade this around as ok, makes me genuinely sick to my stomach。 Being treated like this is abuse。 It is not meant to be glorified。 I’m sorry if this upsets the author, that’s never my intention, but I just can’t。 Truly can’t with this book。 The triggers it brought me make me want to speak to a therapist。 。。。more

Story started off in true Vanessa style, strong independent woman mets controlling, dark and deprived alpha man。 The book definitely had me hooked from the get go, really great read。 The only thing I wish would have been the woman character she started off strong but quickly turned soft and gave in easily。 Would have loved to have seen a bit more fight exhibited。 But overall still enjoyed the book!。 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

2。5 stars, this book was on drugsThat was a rollercoaster, and frankly, I’m still struggling to figure out what this book was supposed to be because it was all over the place。 It gave me whiplash。 I’m not sure if I even liked the main characters。 Knox was supposedly a child genius, but he was ridiculously stupid。 Unbelievable that he’s a genius。 And Indie was a simpering doormat。 She tried to be strong at times, but always capitulated as soon as he touched her in any way。 Also, let’s talk about 2。5 stars, this book was on drugsThat was a rollercoaster, and frankly, I’m still struggling to figure out what this book was supposed to be because it was all over the place。 It gave me whiplash。 I’m not sure if I even liked the main characters。 Knox was supposedly a child genius, but he was ridiculously stupid。 Unbelievable that he’s a genius。 And Indie was a simpering doormat。 She tried to be strong at times, but always capitulated as soon as he touched her in any way。 Also, let’s talk about how this book was a blatant 50 Shades of Grey rip-off。 First off, I hated 50 Shades, so I’m not defending that book by any means。 But this book had all the same plot points。 College student (though Indie apparently just graduated)。 She met the MMC by landing an exclusive interview with the reclusive business tycoon billionaire。 MMC was sexually abused as a minor, causing his extreme adult issues/traumas and OTT need for control, especially with bdsm/in the bedroom。 MFC came from a humble background。 MFC is a journalist。 MMC goes behind her back and buys out her company, takes over, implements changes, fires her boss, gets her ostracized at work, and ruins her professional reputation。 Her ex-boss gets pissed at being fired and does something stupid in revenge。 MMC has scores of willing females obsessed with him and fawning over him, but somehow the MFC makes such a lasting impression during their initial interview that it spawns his obsession with her。 One of the MMC’s fawning/obsessive females goes all crazy and does something crazy。 The comparisons just go on and on and on。 I won’t be reading book 3。 。。。more

This is the second book in the Filthy Rich Villains series by Vanessa Waltz。 The first was Monster (Tony and Eve's story)。 And like the first book, I loved it even though I had a couple of issues with it or maybe in spite of them。Waltz writes heroines who are sweet and loving, who see beyond the surface to find the good。 Women who can empathize with those wronged, but are still strong women who stand up for themselves。 Her heroes are villains who are troubled and/or broken; and because of what b This is the second book in the Filthy Rich Villains series by Vanessa Waltz。 The first was Monster (Tony and Eve's story)。 And like the first book, I loved it even though I had a couple of issues with it or maybe in spite of them。Waltz writes heroines who are sweet and loving, who see beyond the surface to find the good。 Women who can empathize with those wronged, but are still strong women who stand up for themselves。 Her heroes are villains who are troubled and/or broken; and because of what broke them became unfeeling alpha holes to protect themselves。 While her heroes and heroines are similar, their character, backgrounds and stories are completely unique and different。 I loved Knox and Indie。 I loved the dynamic between them and how they battled their need for each other as well as their own demons。 Her need for independence battled with her desire to submit His need for her and need to control battled his fear of loving her and wanting to make her happy。 Add in a couple of villains to aggravate the situation and you have an interesting story。 I loved the characters, and I loved that Knox never hid the fact he wanted her。 He did everything but admit and say those three little words, (which was all she wanted to hear) until near the end。 I loved that Indie, even though she loved him, was strong enough to walk away even though it killed her, because she knew she couldn't live with his complete control of her and most of all she wanted his love。What I didn't like: 1。 Some inconsistencies, example - in Monster, Knox is referred to as Tony's attorney。 However in this book, he is a CEO and owner of a business conglomerate involved in security programs and real estate deals。2。 Some typographical errors (in the ARC, they may have been corrected in the published version, which I purchased, but haven't checked)。 It seems like the author may have revised sentences but forgot to delete unneeded words, e。g。 an extra "the" or "with" in the wrong place; "himself" instead of "herself"。3。 One instance where I thought the heroine made a stupid decision (regarding her investigation of story she wanted to report on (she's a journalist)。 This was early in the book。 Doing what she did for her investigation seemed out of character for her, but it did bring in the protagonists of the story and resulted in her hookup with the H。In spite of the above 3 issues, this story had all the feels; there were times I was angry or frustrated, times when I was choked up wanting to cry and times of happiness。 I felt their emotions, the love and the despair, the fear and the bravery。 And the sex was intense and hot。 There is one particular scene where both the H and h are controlled by another and forced to perform together for the villains, so be forewarned。 Looking forward to Cainan and Evie's story next in the series。I received this book as an ARC, but also。purchased the published copy。 This is my honest review。 。。。more

Bryan Knox is a Tyrant! As soon as he laid eyes on Indie Starling he was done for and I don’t think he realized that until he became obsessively obsessed with the one woman that didn’t cave at his feet until……。。she had no choice。 Indie put herself in a compromising situation she wanted to dig information for a story until it landed her in the hand of the Devil at Sanctum, but then the bulldozer himself shows up and she’s at his mercy and he’s not going to let her go a second time。 Knox and Indie Bryan Knox is a Tyrant! Challenging the other, even the readerI found that the story was sometimes difficult to accept as the relationship between Indie and Knox seems unhealthy, but that's also what makes it a very good dark romance, full of twists and turns, upset feelings, denied, with a raunchy side, but not always complacent。Despite everything that happens, the author manages to bring out a romantic side that is acceptableI voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Challenging the other, even the readerI found that the story was sometimes difficult to accept as the relationship between Indie and Knox seems unhealthy, but that's also what makes it a very good dark romance, full of twists and turns, upset feelings, denied, with a raunchy side, but not always complacent。Despite everything that happens, the author manages to bring out a romantic side that is acceptableI voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book 。。。more
